TOPEKA’S NEW FLAG

by: Kerrice Mapes

January 15 is the LAST DAY to provide feedback on the final four flag designs for the new City of Topeka flag.

When we shared the final designs on Facebook on December 5, over-50 readers voiced their concerns with the project and final designs. While not representative of the masses, those comments may not have reached the Greater Topeka Partnership FORGE Flag Initiative Committee. We urge you to provide feedback prior to the deadline. Their goal is to collect 1,000 comments and according to a press release issued tonight, they are about 2/3rds of the way there.

Feedback should be submitted at topekaflag.com.

SOME NOTES ABOUT THE PROJECT:
(taken straight from the issued press release)

  • None of the four finalist designs will be the final flag. We will be using feedback provided to create one final design that will incorporate the best features. The final flag will be rendered by a group of local, professional marketing/graphic designers.
  • Zero City or County money was spent for this project. It’s 100% organized and executed by Forge volunteers.

Make your voice heard. Submit feedback here.
