SUNDAY LATIN JAZZ QUARTET

Joe Cartwright
Sunday’s Latin Jazz Quartet will allow him to journey between Afro-Cuban and Brazilian influences with excitingly rhythmic lines.

The Topeka Jazz Concert Series opens 2020 with the 6th concert of its 2019-20 season featuring Joe Cartwright’s Latin Jazz Quartet, from Kansas City. Joining pianist Cartwright will be bassist Ben Leifer, drummer Doug Auwarter and percussionist Gary Helm. Cartwright has been a mainstay KC pianist for over 30 years and a pillar of our Topeka Jazz Concert
Series for nearly as long. His capabilities allow him to easily traverse between jazz and many other styles with varying groups. Sunday’s Latin Jazz Quartet will allow him to journey between Afro-Cuban and Brazilian influences with excitingly rhythmic lines.

Admission to the concert is by season membership. Special Holiday memberships are still available for this and the three other remaining concerts of this season for only $75 each, plus tax, and may be purchased at the door or online.
