JC THE NEW KING OF FUNK

JC (Jewel Carter), national recording artist who was born and raised in Kansas City, is performing two shows Saturday, March 31 at J+J’s in NOTO. Show times are 8p and 10p.

JC, dubbed the New King of Funk, has a raw funk sound with a slightly heavier edge, making him relevant, fresh and unique. Another uniqueness about him is that he is lead vocal as well as bassist.

If you enjoy some of the greatest funk/soul/R+B hits, you’ll love JC. JC has performed with iconic groups and artists such as: The Gap Band, Roger Troutman, Bootsy Collins, Gladys Knight, Charlie Wilson, Tech9, Rome and more.

As a studio musician JC has laid down bass tracks for artists such as: TUPAC and SHAQ. He has produced two motion picture sound tracks: Pharcyde’s “Can’t Stop the Music” from the movie Mr. Good Burger, and “Taste” from The Sixth Man.
