This novel is written by a Kansan and about living in Western Kansas. It’s about life, living, family, choices, complications and love. When patriarch Leroy suffers a near-fatal accident, his estranged adult children are forced to return to the Bar W Ranch to save the property and heal fractured family bonds. The narrative tackles grief, generational loss, financial stress, and buried secrets coming to light in the stark prairie setting.

It’s a great read with lots of surprises, very thoughtful. If you are an audio book reader, the book is read by the author which is nice.We lost the thread of book club for a minute this summer but it’s time to get back on track with a great book and some time together!
